The Assign Standards to Courses screen is used to assign the standards that were set up in the Standards screen to courses. After standards are assigned to a course, the standards are available in the Gradebook for creating assignments and for posting standard grades (unless hidden from report cards or restricted to a particular marking period).
1. In the Assessment menu, click Assign Standards to Courses.
2. On the left side of the screen, locate the course. To quickly find the course in the list, enter the full or partial course number or name in the Search box and press Enter.
3. Click the Course Num link for the course.
The selected course number is displayed next to the red X at the top-left corner of the screen.
4. Any standards assigned to the course are displayed in the middle section of the screen, including the subject area, grade level, strand, cluster, and standard titles.
If no standards have been assigned to the course, "No Standards were found" is displayed.
5. To close the course, click the red X next to the course number at the top-left corner of the screen.
1. Select the course on the left side of the screen by clicking the Course Num link.
To assign standards to multiple courses, select the check box next to each course.
2. Select the check boxes next to the standards to assign to the course on the right side of the screen.
Click the subject area, grade level, strand, and cluster links to locate the standards to assign to the course. Selecting the check box next to a subject area, grade level, strand, or cluster will select all the standards housed within it.
Hover the mouse over the standard title to view the description in a tool-tip.
3. After selecting the standards, click Add.
4. In the confirmation message, click OK.
A green check mark and confirmation message is displayed at the top-left corner of the screen, and the selected standards are displayed in the middle section of the screen.
When deleting a standard from a course, the standard will no longer be accessible in any reports run by teachers or administrators. Do not delete standards that have been attached to assignments or for which grades have already been posted.
1. After selecting the course on the left side of the screen, click the minus sign to left of the standard in the Standards list.
2. In the confirmation message, click OK.
A green check mark and confirmation message is displayed at the top-left corner of the screen.
