Profiles and Permissions

1. There are several ways of setting up permissions for Employee Self Service. To set View and Edit permissions, using the SIS module, from the Users menu, click Profiles.

To set View and Edit permissions, using the ERP module, from the Setup menu, click Profiles.

a. Select Menu from the Permission Type pull-down

b. Select the View and/or Edit check boxes for each module. Be sure to click the Save button at the top of the screen before navigating to a different screen.

2. Permissions can also be set up via the user permission type. Select User from the Permission Type pull-down for more detailed permissions, such as create, delete, edit, etc.

a. From this screen you can control what users are able to Create, Delete, View, Edit, and what should Require Approval upon being edited using the corresponding check boxes. Be sure to click the Save button at the top of the screen before navigating to a different screen.

3. For permissions pertaining specifically to employee fields, select Employee Fields from the Permission Type pull-down.

If a user is assigned multiple Profiles, all profiles must be set up with the same permissions. If a user has two and one is set up with Create, Delete, View, and Edit, and the other is set up with View, the user will still be able to Create, Delete, and Edit as well.
