The categories and student fields displayed in Student Info may have been set up by your school district, therefore what you see in Student Info may be custom to your district. The categories and student fields that display are also based on your user profile. You may not be able to view or edit certain fields. This article will go over some of the common features and functions in Student Info.

Searching for Students (Teachers)
Updated onArticleFocus provides several ways for teachers to search for students, both individually and by specified search criteria. The Student Search module appears on many screens throughout Focus, and includes three submenus: Search Screen, Simple List, and Customized List. This documentation provides information on the student search screen, including the student search bar, More Search Options, Student Groups, and how to save and use saved searches (when using the new search feature). The Simple List provides a comprehensive list of all students or the results from the Search Screen, and the Customized List can be set up in Preferences to display selected students.

Gradebook: Gradebook Templates
Updated onArticleYour district may have applied a Gradebook template to all gradebooks in your school or for particular courses that you teach. The template may populate assignment categories as well as specific assignments into your Gradebook. Your district may allow or restrict teachers from adding additional categories and assignments to the Gradebook, and may allow or restrict teachers from modifying and deleting the categories and assignments populated by the template. Your district may allow or restrict teachers from adding additional standards to assignments, and may allow or restrict teachers from removing standards from assignments that were populated by the template.

No Show/Low Attendance
Updated onArticleThe No Show/Low Attendance screen displays students (active or inactive) who have no attended hours for their respective classes (the report Threshold defaults to 0 hours present). The report can also be customized via a threshold to pull students with a different specified number of hours.

Create Assessments
Updated onArticleThe Create Assessments screen is used to set up assessments, or as it is also called on this screen, activities. An activity is a group of items that are presented to the student as a single assessment. Individual items set up on the Create Questions screen are added to the activity.

K-12 Classroom Attendance on the Kiosk
Updated onArticleThe kiosk can be used for taking attendance within K-12 classrooms. When a K-12 teacher logs into the kiosk, the screen is defaulted to the Classroom Attendance mode. Students can scan their ID badge (via barcode/RFID) or manually enter their student ID when entering the classroom. When the teacher views the Take Attendance screen in the List or Seating Chart view, students who scanned in during the period will be marked present. Students who did not scan in during the period will be marked absent. Student attendance records are not officially updated until the teacher reviews attendance and clicks Save on the Take Attendance screen.

Post Final Grades
Updated onArticleThe Post Final Grades module allows teachers to post final grades for exams, quarters, semesters, or years, as required per marking period. Grades can be entered manually, be imported via a CSV file, or pulled from the Gradebook.
