Updated onArticleAs part of the DOE Database Manual, districts can download the Appendices from DOE into tables within Focus so they can view the data contained in each appendix. These appendices are used in State Reporting to validate the district's data prior to the district sending the data to DOE at survey time. Depending on the time of year, the appendices may or may not be available to download from DOE.

Elementary Scheduler
Updated onArticleThe Elementary Scheduler screen is used create rosters for homeroom teachers and schedule students into their packages. Students can be manually rostered, or the Optimize option can be used to evenly distribute students based on gender, race, discipline referral history, assessment scores, ESE (special education) status, ELL status, 504 status, and Gifted status.

Team Scheduler

User Permissions
Updated onArticleThere may be times when a user needs customized permissions that differ from the assigned profile. Updates to permissions for the user's assigned profile will still flow down to the user, but will not override permissions set on the User Permissions screen. Focus does not encourage setting individual user permissions due to the maintenance involved.

Student Groups
Updated onArticleThis training guide will help users create, assign, and manage Student Groups. Student Groups allow specific users (teachers, coaches, counselors) to easily access records of selected students based on various criteria. Student Groups can be created for a variety of purposes such as sports teams, academic cohorts, or discipline groups. Groups allow designated users to search for, view, and (depending on permissions) edit the records of students in those groups. For example, a girls basketball coach can have access to student records of all team members, but restrictions can be applied to limit their editing rights. Groups can also be assigned to guidance counselors, deans, or other staff members.

EWS
Updated onArticleThe EWS (Early Warning System) module allows districts to quickly identify students that are struggling with attendance, suspensions, etc. and open the corresponding screens. For example, if a student is listed for Attendance below 90%, clicking the student's name will open the student's Absence Summary where the issue can directly be reviewed.

Student Schedule
Updated onArticleThe Student Schedule screen is used to view the student schedule, export or print the schedule, lock sections on the schedule, add sections to the schedule manually or using the Auto-Schedule feature, delete or drop sections from the schedule, and edit section information.

Work Order Requests
Updated onArticleThe Work Order Requests module allows users to input requests for work needed which can be linked to a Fixed Assets, pull in products from the Warehouse, and more. The Work Order Requests module includes the Drafts tab where users create work orders to be submitted, the Request History tab where users can review all submitted work order requests, the Pending Approval tab where users part of the Approval Chain can review and approve or deny requests, and the Approval History tab where users part of the Approval Chain can review approved or denied requests.
