FOCUS-49221- Attendance: Add Saturday & Sunday for Attendance Calendar

This update improves the new Attendance Calendar by ensuring Saturday and Sunday display as expected when marked as in-session days in the calendar setup. Previously, the interface limited visible options to Monday through Friday.

FOCUS-49197- New Run Query: Respect Autocomplete Setting

This update ensures that the new Runquery tool correctly disables autocomplete prompts when the Autocomplete setting is turned off. Previously, autocomplete suggestions would still appear even when disabled.

FOCUS-49190- Run Scheduler: Prevent Duplicate Scheduling from Circular Section Relationships

This update resolves an issue in Run Scheduler where circular parent-child relationships between course sections could result in duplicate scheduling. Previously, students could be scheduled into multiple sections unnecessarily to fulfill the same course request. With this fix, once a request is filled through a parent-child section relationship, it will no longer be scheduled again, preventing duplicate course assignments.

FOCUS-49189- New Run Query: Resolve History Tab Not Preserving Comments & Formatting

This update resolves an issue in the new Runquery tool where previously saved queries in the history tab would lose comments and formatting when restored. With this fix, selecting a query from history now correctly preserves its original structure, including any comments and formatting applied before execution.

FOCUS-49188- Address & Contacts: Respect School Access for "View Student Info" on Linked Students

This update resolves an issue where users could access student records from schools they were not assigned to by clicking the "View Student Info" link under Linked Students in the Addresses & Contacts screen. With this fix, the link only appears for students enrolled in schools the logged-in user has permission to access.

FOCUS-49180- District Report Cards & Transcripts: Restore Proper Title Display on Portals

This update corrects an issue where published District Report Cards were displaying the letterhead template title by default in the Student and Parent Portals. With this fix, the original behavior is restored--the report title now correctly displays using the format: {Program} + {Marking Periods}.

FOCUS-49143- Communication Platform: Account for Null User Enrollment Start Dates in Communication Integrations

This update resolves an issue in the Communication Platform where messages tied to User-based integrations could fail if the User Enrollment Start Date was null. The lookup logic has been adjusted to properly handle null values, ensuring consistent message delivery regardless of enrollment date presence.

FOCUS-49140- Attendance: Resolve Grade Filter Error on Average Daily Attendance

This update resolves an issue in the Average Daily Attendance report where selecting certain grade-related filters in More Search Options would result in an error. This fix ensures the correct data type is used, preventing the exception and allowing the report to run as expected.

FOCUS-49132- New RunQuery: Resolve SQL Formatter Handling of Double Colons

This update resolves an issue in the New RunQuery tool where using the Format Query feature would incorrectly insert spaces around double colons in SQL statements (e.g., title::text), causing syntax errors. The formatter now preserves the correct PostgreSQL casting syntax, ensuring formatted queries continue to execute without error.

FOCUS-49130- Communication: Teacher Attendance Alerts Delay Issue

Teacher Attendance Alerts now send based solely on the period start time + minutes threshold delay, regardless of the periods end time. Previously, alerts would not send if the delay exceeded the period length. This update ensures that alerts are consistently triggered once the delay threshold is met, improving reliability in monitoring attendance.

FOCUS-49129- Graduation Req. Report: Biliteracy Seal Update for Florida

This update refines the logic used to evaluate the Biliteracy Seal requirement for Florida districts. Based on updated FLDOE guidance, the Graduation Requirements Report will no longer consider FST (Florida Assessment of Student Thinking) test scores with subject codes RF or RW and test forms PM1 or PM2 when evaluating whether a student meets the FSA/FAST ELA requirement with a score of 4 or higher. This change excludes provisional test records.

FOCUS-49096- Communication Platform: Positive Behavior Option Added Only if Callout System is Enabled

This update refines the visibility logic for the Communication option on the Positive Behavior screen. Previously, if a teacher had the profile permission for Positive Behaviors but the necessary Focus setting for callouts was disabled, the Communication option would still appear--leading to an insufficient permission error when clicked. With this change, the Communication option will only appear if both the permission and the Focus setting are enabled.

FOCUS-49088- Student Portal: Unable to View Previous Quarter Grades in Portal

This update resolves an issue where students encountered an error when switching to a prior marking period in the Student Portal. Previously, attempting to view assignment grades from a previous term would result in a blank screen or error. After this fix, assignments and grades from previous marking periods display as expected, even for courses marked inactive.

FOCUS-49087- Rollover & Set Next School: Improved Handling of EduChoice for PK Grade Levels

This update improves how the Set Next School and Rollover processes handle students in PK grade levels with a shortname of 'PS.' For Set Next School, the system now correctly treats 'PS' as the lowest grade level when comparing against EduChoice Duration values, preventing unnecessary zoning overrides. During Rollover--whether through the interface or scheduled job--the system now retains EduChoice Duration and Next Year EduChoice values on both current and next year enrollment records when 'PS' grade levels are involved.

FOCUS-49086- Student Requests: Alternate Courses Handling with Max Request Preference Limit

This update resolves an issue where adding alternate course requests would incorrectly trigger a pop-up stating the student had exceeded the maximum number of requests, even though alternates should be allowed. After the update, alternates can be saved without warning once the maximum number of primary requests is reached. If a primary and alternate are added simultaneously beyond the limit, a single alert is shown before saving. This change ensures alternate course entry behaves as expected when the "Max Number of Requests" preference is enforced.

FOCUS-49070- Graduation Req. Report: Fine Arts Designation Update (Florida Only)

This update refines the logic used to evaluate Fine Arts Designation eligibility in the Graduation Requirements Report for Florida customers. Previously, the system would combine half-credit courses based on a match of the first four digits of the course number. With this update, the system now requires all seven digits of the course number to match before combining half-credit courses for Fine Arts Designation purposes, ensuring accurate recognition of qualifying courses.

FOCUS-49066- Improved Small Font Printing Support Without Template

This update ensures that when the "Small Font" option is selected during printing--without choosing a letterhead template--the system will correctly render reduced font sizes. Previously, the fallback to HTMLDoc ignored small font styling, resulting in no visible font reduction.

FOCUS-49063- Gradebook Audit Trail: Assignment Title Visibility for Co-Teachers

This update resolves an issue where co-teachers were unable to view assignment titles in the gradebook audit trail. With this fix, the audit trail now correctly displays assignment titles for all users assigned to the section, including co-teachers, ensuring consistent visibility and access to grading records.

FOCUS-49062- Discipline Referral Fields: Make Permissions Apply to Add Referral Logging Columns

This update improves the enforcement of logging field permissions within the Discipline module. Previously, users without view access to specific Action Record columns could still see those columns when adding a referral. With this update, columns tied to logging fields are now properly hidden if the user lacks the appropriate permissions, ensuring data visibility aligns with assigned profile access.

FOCUS-49047- New Student Schedule: Include Today as Active for Drop Date

This update adjusts how drop dates are interpreted in the New Student Schedule. Previously, a course dropped on the current date was treated as inactive. With this change, courses dropped as of today are now considered active and will appear as part of the schedule, even when the "Show Inactive" option is unchecked. Courses dropped before today will continue to display as inactive.

FOCUS-49045- Student & Parent Portal: Assignment Time Display Corrected

This update resolves an issue where Assigned, Due, and Published times were appearing on the Student and Parent Portalseven when the teacher did not set them. With this fix, time fields will only display if a time was explicitly entered by the teacher. This correction also applies to the Print Assignment Grades view for both students and administrators.

FOCUS-49043- SSO: New Option to Disable Remote Logout for SAML Profiles

This update introduces a new configuration option for SAML-based Single Sign-On (SSO) profiles. Administrators can now set "Allow Remote Logout" to No, preventing the system from attempting to log users out of the identity provider during logout. This offers greater control over session management for organizations using external identity providers.

FOCUS-49042- Scheduler: Improved Period Conflict Resolution Logic

This update refines how the scheduler handles period conflicts. Previously, sections scheduled in periods that both conflicted with a third period (e.g., Period Z) would be treated as conflicting with each other, preventing students from being scheduled into both. With this update, the scheduler now only considers two sections to be in conflict if they directly overlap or share a conflicting period--not if they simply both conflict with the same third period. This allows for more accurate and flexible scheduling.

FOCUS-49022- Requests Report: Consolidated Alternate Request Counts

This update improves the accuracy and performance of the Requests by Course report by consolidating how alternate requests are counted. Instead of querying and summing each alternate slot separately, the report now counts unique students who selected a course as any alternate, eliminating duplicates and streamlining processing.

FOCUS-49016- Graduation Req. Report: Scholar Designation - Statistics Course Update (Florida)

This update adds course 1210300 (Statistics) to the list of courses that satisfy the Scholar Designation requirement for "Earned 1 Credit in Statistics or Equally-Rigorous Course." This change applies only to customers using Florida State Reporting.

FOCUS-49009- Master Schedule Builder: Fix for Period Import Conflict Across Teacher Planning Types

This update resolves an issue where importing planning periods on the Master Schedule Builder would fail if any teacher had the same period listed under multiple planning types (Planning, Duty, Department, or Unavailable). The import process now correctly handles these overlaps, allowing planning periods to be imported as expected.

FOCUS-49004- Letter Queue: Resolve Incorrect File Type on Download

This update resolves an issue where downloading a letter from the Letter Queue resulted in an incorrect file type (.htm) due to the _FOCUS_PDF variable not being set during form generation. After this fix, downloaded files now correctly use the PDF format and display as expected.

FOCUS-48985- New Student Schedule: Preference to Display Period Titles Instead of Short Names

A new preference, "Display Period Title instead of Short Name on Student Schedule," has been added. When enabled, this setting updates the New Student Schedule to show Period Titles in place of their Short Names for all users.

FOCUS-48979- Courses & Sections: Can't Add sections with Different Periods on Different Days in the Rotation

This update resolves an issue that occurred when the "Sections can have different periods on different days in the rotation" system preference was enabled. Previously, attempting to add a section with A Beg, B Beg, A End, and B End values set would result in an error. With this fix, sections are now added correctly without error under this configuration.

FOCUS-48978- Absence by Course and Students: Fix for Incorrect Day Counts with Double-Booked Courses

This update resolves an issue in the Absences by Course and Student report where students enrolled in the same course more than once (i.e., double-booked) showed incorrect "days possible" totals. Previously, the report undercounted possible attendance days in these cases. With this fix, the report now accurately reflects attendance totals for each section, even when a student is enrolled in the same course multiple times.

FOCUS-48974- Student Info: 'Call' Button Now Hidden on Unsupported Devices

This update resolves an issue where the 'Call' button would incorrectly appear on the Student Info screen when accessed from the Letter Queue, even on devices that do not support calling functionality. With this fix, the button is now only shown when the user's device supports initiating phone calls..

FOCUS-48955- Communication Platform: Attendance Alert Messages Now Attributed to Cron User

This update improves performance in the Communication Platform by reassigning attendance alert messages to the cron user. Previously, messages triggered by attendance alerts were attributed to the user who configured the alert, causing the Sent folder to load slowly for those users. A migration is included to reassign existing attendance messages to the cron user, and future messages will also be stored this way.

FOCUS-48942- Change Requests: Accurate Display for Select/Multiple Form Fields

This update resolves an issue in the Change Requests interface where requests involving select or multiple form fields displayed internal IDs rather than the proper field labels in the default datatable view. For example, grade level changes were shown as ID numbers instead of readable values. The system now correctly formats and displays these fields, ensuring change request details are accurately represented.

FOCUS-48928- Electronic Grade Change Requests: Reason Code Enforcement Fix

This update ensures the "Enable reason code for grade change" system preference is properly enforced. Previously, users could submit grade change requests without selecting a reason code, even when the preference was enabled. With this fix, users are now prompted to select a reason code before submitting a request, aligning system behavior with the configured grading preferences.

FOCUS-48913- Communication Platform: Add queue_id to reenrollment_request for Better Tracking

This update introduces backend support for improved tracking of Re-enrollment Requests within the Communication Platform. A new queue_id column has been added to the reenrollment_request table to capture the origin of each request, enabling more precise reporting and integration with callout-based workflows.

FOCUS-48874- Average Daily Attendance Report: Exclude from ADA Option (Missouri)

This enhancement introduces a new "Exclude from ADA" option for course sections, allowing Missouri districts to exclude specific scheduled courses from Average Daily Attendance (ADA) calculations. When enabled for a section, student enrollment in that section will no longer contribute to ADA hours, present/absent minutes, or hours possible in the report. This setting is available only to Missouri customers and is respected throughout the system, including in the Absence Summary and ADA-related calculations.

FOCUS-48869- Communication: Portal Alert for Errored Scheduled Messages and Option to Dismiss Errors

Improving upon Scheduled Messages within Communication, a new portal alert now notifies users of scheduled messages with errors, directing them to the Scheduled Messages tab. Messages with errors now include a Dismiss button, which opens a confirmation popup: "Are you sure you want to dismiss the error and not send this message?" Once dismissed, the message is removed from the alert count. Users will maintain the ability to update and reschedule the message as needed, which will also remove the alert. This update improves visibility and control over unsent scheduled communications.

FOCUS-48868- Discipline: Resolve Add Detention Error with Deleted Referral Fields

This update resolves an issue in the Detention List where clicking the "Add Detention" button would result in a database error if a previously configured Referral Field with a default "Value on New Referrals" had been deleted. The system now handles this scenario gracefully, preventing errors when creating new detentions.

FOCUS-48818- Student Requests: Course Visibility Fixed in Student Portal for Alternate Requests

This update resolves an issue where students could see and select courses marked as unavailable for student requests (e.g., "Allow students to request this course" unchecked) in the Student Portal. Previously, after making an initial course request, restricted courses could appear in the alternate course selection dropdown. With this fix, restricted courses no longer appear at any point in the student request workflow.

FOCUS-48745- Attendance Chart: Access Restored for Non-Attendance-Taking Teachers

This update resolves an issue that prevented teachers without attendance-taking responsibilities from accessing the Attendance Chart. With this fix, all teachers can now view the Attendance Chart regardless of whether they are assigned to take attendance for any sections.

FOCUS-48629- Third Party Systems (OneRoster): Enrollment Status Fix for "Marking Periods Always Active"

Improved how enrollment status is handled in the Third Party Systems API leveraging the OneRoster dialect. When the "Marking Periods Always Active" option is enabled in Third Party Systems, the API now correctly marks enrollments as "active," even for schedules that would otherwise be considered inactive. Previously, these records were incorrectly flagged as "ToBeDeleted."

FOCUS-48614- Absence Summary Enhancements for Missouri

This update improves the Absence Summary screen for Missouri customers by aligning total hours data with the Average Daily Attendance (ADA) report. It ensures consistency between reported hours present, absent, and possible across both views. These changes apply only to Missouri districts and are not visible in other states.

FOCUS-48460- Addresses and Contacts: Limit to One SMS and One Call Flag Per Contact

To enhance clarity and consistency in contact preferences, the platform now allows only one Call and one SMS flag per contact for customers leveraging the Communication Platform, Call Out system. When a new phone number is selected for either the Call or SMS flag, any previously selected number will automatically be unflagged. This streamlined approach applies when editing contacts in Student Info, Add a Student, User Info, Online Application, and Reenrollment Forms screens. This update helps ensure clear communication preferences and supports more accurate delivery of calls and text messages.

FOCUS-48402- Scheduling: Master Schedule Report Mass Update Teacher

This update resolves an issue in the Master Schedule Report where teacher changes made through the mass update workflow would not save if users interacted with the teacher history modal inconsistently (e.g., submitting some, closing others, or selecting "Do Not Log History"). With this fix, all valid changes are now saved as expected regardless of modal interaction patterns.

FOCUS-48377- Communication Platform: Resolve Image Display Issues in Announcements Using CKEditor

This update resolves multiple issues related to image handling in announcements created with CKEditor in the Communication Platform. Previously, using the inline image option without accompanying text would prevent the announcement from posting and the image from displaying. Additionally, images with the side text layout incorrectly positioned the text below the image, and captions added to images would disappear in the editor and display incorrectly in the announcement. These issues have now been corrected to ensure proper image and caption formatting across all use cases.

FOCUS-48349- School Choice: Restore Choice Validation for Magnet/Special Assignment

This update improves the School Choice module by requiring a Choice selection when an admin manually enters an assignment through the Magnet/Special Assignment screen. This ensures data completeness and prevents records from being saved without an associated choice.

FOCUS-48260- Student Groups: New Display Options for Student and Parent Portals

This update adds a new enhancement to Student Groups, allowing them to be displayed on the Student and Parent Portals. Admins can now select new visibility options within each student group to determine whether it appears on the respective portals. If a student is enrolled in multiple schools and the admin creating the group has access to more than one, the group will only display in the portal block for the student's primary school.

FOCUS-48122- Improved Date Entry with Smart Year Auto-Correction

This update enhances all date fields across the Student Information System (SIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) by introducing smart year auto-correction to prevent common data entry mistakes. The system now automatically adjusts invalid or mistyped years--such as trimming extra digits, interpreting two-digit years (e.g., '24' as 2024 or '89' as 1989), or reordering digits from invalid inputs (e.g., '0219' corrected to 2019). When uncertain, the system defaults to a 2000s-based year assumption to reduce the likelihood of errors disrupting downstream processes. This improvement ensures greater accuracy and efficiency when entering date information throughout the system.

FOCUS-47618- Students: Ensure Avery Labels Generate for Inactive Students

This update resolves an issue that prevented Avery Labels from being generated for inactive students. With this fix, inactive students are now properly included in the label generation process when applicable.

FOCUS-47485- Form Builder: New Local Student Dropdown Present

This enhancement adds a dropdown option called "Text Format" when the Student Dropdown Present it leveraged. After adding the Student Dropdown to a form and selecting it, the Text Format can be set to "Student Name," "Student Name (Student ID)," or "Student Name (Local ID)." When an option including an ID is leveraged in a form the dropdown will display students by name and student/local ID, providing districts with an alternative to using the standard method. This supports districts that prefer to reference students by their numeric identifier. All previously set Student Dropdown Presents in forms will automatically be set to "Student Name" to maintain existing functionality.

FOCUS-47462- Communication Platform: Announcements to Groups

We are excited to introduce a new feature that enhances the announcement posting functionality. Previously, announcements could be posted to Schools, Profiles, and Grade Levels. With this update, users can now post announcements to Student Groups and User Groups, providing greater flexibility and control over communication.

Updates to Announcements:

  1. Group-Based Announcements: The Schools Pulldown has now been changed to a Schools or Groups Toggle. Admins & Teachers can now post announcements to Student Groups and User Groups they have access to instead of to entire Schools.
  2. Profile-Specific Audience Targeting: When a Group has been selected instead of a school, the profiles pulldown will update to Group Profiles, allowing users to specify which profile(s) within the group should receive the announcement.

These enhancements provide greater flexibility, better audience targeting, and a more intuitive user experience.

FOCUS-47431- Communication Platform: Announcement Posts with Comments & Reactions to Groups

A new way to engage with Announcements is hereusers can now react to and comment on tagged Posts within the Communication Platform. Key Enhancements:

  • Interactive Posts: Announcements can now be tagged as Posts, enabling users to add Comments and Reactions.
    • Allow Reactions: Allow all recipients of the Post to react.
    • Allow Comments: Allow all recipients of the Post to comment.
    • Hide Comments: Allows recipients to comment but hides comments publicly. Only the creator and users with access to the announcement will be able to view comments.
  • News Feed Update: A new Posts tab has been added to the main portal feed, displaying all Announcements with Comments and/or Reactions enabled.
  • User Engagement: Users can now view and engage with Reactions and Comments:
    • Directly from the Portal screen, when viewing the Announcement
    • On the Announcements tab within Communication, by clicking View Comments & Reactions, a pop-up window is organized by tabs for Reactions and Comments (shown based on what is enabled).
    • All users can only make one initial comment on posts
    • Replies are limited to one reply per comment, and only Staff can reply to comments.
  • Comment Replies: Staff may reply to any user comment once. After a staff reply, that thread is closed for further replies.

These enhancements promote better communication and feedback across your platform while maintaining moderation and visibility controls.

FOCUS-47003- Gradebook Reports: Removes Photo Column from Blank Gradebook

This update resolves an issue where student images were not populating on the Blank Gradebook Report. With this fix, student images now display as expected.

FOCUS-46863- Advanced Reports: Attendance Hours Fields (Missouri)

This update adds Missouri-specific attendance fields to Advanced Reports, including Total Hours Present, Absent, Possible, and ADA%.

FOCUS-42627- Protected Students: Improvements to Hidden Information

This update enhances the security of sensitive information for students marked as "Protected." Going forward, the birthdate, social security number, and profile photo of Protected Students will be hidden unless the end-user has explicit permissions to view protected student information. This improvement ensures greater privacy and stricter access control for sensitive student data.

FOCUS-49259- Portal: Styling Fix for New Posts Tab in Announcements

SSS

FOCUS-49182- SSS: CK Editor Notes Display Resolution in Events

This update resolves an issue where notes entered using CKEditor in SSS Events were not consistently displaying. With this fix, notes now appear reliably across all relevant SSS Event views.

FOCUS-49039- SSS Events: Filter Out Untagged Forms from Supplementary Steps

This update refines the display logic for forms within SSS Events. Previously, forms that were not specifically tagged for a supplementary step would still appear in that step. With this change, only forms explicitly tagged for the given supplementary step will display, improving clarity and ensuring that users only see relevant forms during the event workflow.

FOCUS-48980- SSS: Schedule of Services Manual End Dates Now Save Correctly

This update resolves an issue in the SSS module where manually entered end dates in the Schedule of Services screen were not being saved if the start date was set to "Use Plan Start Date." Previously, the system would default to the Plan End Date even when the "Use Plan Review Date" option was unchecked. With this update, manually entered end dates are now properly saved as expected.

FOCUS-48735- SSS: Regenerating Headers/Footers Now Supported for Older Events

This update ensures that regenerating headers and footers functions correctly for older SSS events. Previously, the action could fail for very old records, but this fix allows headers/footers to be regenerated as expected regardless of the event's age.

FOCUS-48621- SSS: PMP Data Collection - Student Table Sorted Alphabetically

This update improves the SSS module by ensuring the students table is now sorted in alphabetical order (AZ). Previously, the list was not consistently sorted, making navigation more difficult.
