If the assignment had no base points possible, entering a score greater than zero would trigger the error. This update prevents the error and ensures grades are saved as expected.

FOCUS-48632- Add Column Filters to Course Progression for Postsecondary

This update enhances the Course Progression report for postsecondary customers by adding filter functionality to each column, including the Progressed column. Users can now filter the Progressed column by selecting "Yes" or "No" to quickly identify students who have or have not met course progression requirements. This improvement allows for easier sorting and analysis of student progress within the report.

FOCUS-48622- Students: Page Numbering Issue Resolution on Print Student Info

This update resolves a Chrome-specific issue when printing Student Info records. Previously, each printed page incorrectly displayed the same page number (e.g., 2/6) instead of showing accurate pagination. This issue only affected users printing from Google Chrome and is now corrected. Other browsers were not impacted.

FOCUS-48613- Handhelds: Resolve Keyboard Not Opening on Badge Value Edit in Teacher Portal

This update resolves an issue in the Handheld for teachers where tapping to edit a badge value under a student's profile did not trigger the on-screen keyboard to appear. This behavior occurred when attempting to edit the value by double-clicking the field. With this fix, the keyboard now opens as expected, allowing teachers to update badge values directly from the app.

FOCUS-48610- Room Schedules: Drag-and-Drop Save Resolution

This update resolves an issue in the Room Schedules Report where dragging and dropping a section did not save the new placement. Previously, the section would revert to its original location after the action. With this fix, drag-and-drop updates now persist as expected.

FOCUS-48609- Planning Periods: Rollover Enhancements & UI Improvements

This update improves how Planning Periods are handled during rollover and displayed in the user interface. Rollover logic is now school-specific, preventing duplicates across schools by including school_id in the process. A migration also removes any duplicate planning period entries post-rollover. In the UI, the Planning Period datatable has been updated to display Rotation Days next to the teacher name for better visibility.

FOCUS-48556- Resolve Grade Change Comment Logic in Final Grades, GPA, & Class Rank

This update corrects the logic used when posting electronic grade changes in Final Grades, Course History, and Class Rank. Previously, the system would automatically add the comment "Grade could not be updated due to district restriction" anytime a locked grade was changed, regardless of system preference settings. With this update, the comment will only be added when all of the following are true: the grade is locked, the grade has changed, and the system preference "Recalculate parent marking period grades and GPAs when a grade is changed on Final Grades, GPA, and Class Rank" is enabled.

The update ensures that students with either no end date or an end date in the future are correctly included in search results.

FOCUS-48542 - Attendance: Weighted FTE Added to ADA Report for Improved Accuracy (Missouri)

This update enhances the ADA Report by introducing a new "Weighted FTE" calculation, which adjusts a student's FTE based on their actual enrollment duration within the selected timeframe. The new Weighted FTE value is used in place of standard FTE in the "ADA x FTE" and "FTE 90%" columns, which have been updated accordingly. Please note these metrics are specific to customers in Missouri. These changes improve the accuracy of attendance reporting and better align with state reporting requirements. Additional improvements include better handling of null values and safer logic for excluding months.

This update resolves an issue where invalid or non-numeric student IDs passed in the URL (e.g., student_id=unset) could cause errors in the Student Portal. With this fix, the system will only set the session's student ID if the value provided is numeric, preventing "Invalid id: 0 errors" on pages.

FOCUS-48512- Communication Platform: Add "Message" Quick Link to Attendance Administration

This update adds the "Message" quick link to the student search results in Attendance > Administration. Users with messaging permissions can now quickly access the Communication Platform and message the returned results from the report. This update corrects an issue in the new Run Scheduler where scheduling priorities were not respected if a lower-priority request had only one available section. The fix ensures that higher-priority requests are correctly scheduled by allowing lower-priority requests to be unscheduled, regardless of section count. Additionally, the "Schedule First" flag is now properly honored, ensuring those students are prioritized during scheduling.

FOCUS-48489- Master Schedule Builder: Resolve "Import from Planning Periods" to Include All Period Types

This update resolves an issue in the Master Schedule Builder where the "Import from Planning Periods" function would not apply for teachers who lacked department planning periods. With this fix, the import now considers all period types -- Planning, Duty, Department, and Unavailable -- ensuring that any teacher with assigned periods will have their availability accurately calculated and reflected.

FOCUS-48461- Choice: New "Inactive" Status for School Choice Priority Charts

This update adds an "Inactive" checkbox to the School Choice Priority Charts setup screen. When selected, the associated priority chart is excluded from all system-wide processes, including lottery processing and priority calculations. This enhancement allows districts to retain historical or test configurations without impacting active School Choice workflows.

This update resolves an issue in the Teacher Completion report where teachers were incorrectly flagged for not taking attendance on days when students were not actually scheduled. The problem stemmed from attendance logic referencing only the course's meeting days instead of each student's actual schedule. With this fix, attendance completion is now accurately based on student-specific scheduled days, ensuring teachers are only held accountable for students present in their roster on a given day.

FOCUS-48343- Gradebook: Allow Different Colors Per Section for the Same Category

This update improves the Teacher Gradebook by allowing different colors to be assigned to the same category across different sections. Previously, a category shared the same color in all sections, limiting customization. With this enhancement, teachers can now visually differentiate categories by section for improved clarity and organization

FOCUS-48276- Imports: Adds AAP/AAD Test Parsers and Updates FAA Parser Naming (Florida)

FOCUS-48238- Teacher Gradebook: New Read-Only Gradebook System Preference

This enhancement adds a new system preference under the Grading tab: "Read Only Gradebook (Prevent teachers from adding or editing assignments or grades)." When enabled, teachers are restricted from modifying assignments or entering grades but can continue managing gradebook categories. This feature supports districts using GradePassback API workflows. Important: To maintain accurate gradebook averages, districts must enable the "Recalc DT Grades Fix" scheduled job to run nightly.

This update adds built-in file parsers to the Imports module to support Texas state testing. All templates are effective Fall 2024 and designed for student results file conversion.

FOCUS-47858- Rooms Setup Redesign with Categories and Datatable Functionality

Rooms setup has been updated with a modernized interface and new functionality. The screen is now a datatable, allowing users to filter, export, and clear filters as needed. Rooms are now organized under two tabs: Rooms and Categories. Categories lets organizations define types of rooms with custom descriptors. A default category named "Rooms" is created automatically and assigned to all existing rooms, but additional categories can be created and applied for better organization and sorting.

FOCUS-47799- Discipline: New Permission to Edit Positive Behavior Award History

This update introduces a new permission allowing administrators to edit the history of Positive Behavior Awards. A migration will automatically grant this permission to users with existing view and edit rights to Discipline > Setup > Positive Behaviors. Users without the new permission will no longer be able to edit or delete award history.

FOCUS-47764- Request Grade Change: Respect "Min/Max Posted Percent Affected Marking Periods" System Preference

The error occurred even when those restrictions were not set to apply to the marking period being updated. With this update, the system correctly honors the configured restrictions and only enforces them for the appropriate marking periods.

FOCUS-47706- Scheduling: Unlink Sections Enhancement in Master Schedule Report

This update adds new functionality to the Linked Sections page of the Master Schedule Report, allowing users to unlink child sections from their parent sections. A new "Unlink" checkbox has been added to enable this action for individual or filtered sets of sections using mass update. Access to this feature is controlled by a new profile permission: "Unlink Sections" under Profiles > Scheduling > Master Schedule Report. All existing linking functionality remains unchanged. To maintain existing functionality, the profile permission "Unlink Sections" will be installed in the off position.

FOCUS-47097- USPS Address Validation Support

This update introduces a new system preference, "Use the USPS API for address validation," which enforces USPS-compliant formatting when entering student and mailing addresses. A USPS suggestion icon appears during address entry, and only validated formats will be accepted unless the user has the "Allow overriding USPS address validation" profile permission. If both USPS validation and Address Catalog are enabled, the Address Catalog takes precedence. Organizations must supply their USPS API credentials to Focus via a support representative or Zendesk ticket to enable this feature.

FOCUS-46948- Users: Improved User Permissions Enforcement in Add a User

This update resolves a loophole in the Add User feature that allowed administrators to access and edit users outside of their assigned schools. Additionally, a secondary permission check has been added to prevent unauthorized access through direct URL manipulation.
