FOCUS-49623- Student Portal: Resolve Incorrect Grade Hiding Behavior

This update resolves an issue where posted grades were being hidden from students and parents even though the system preference "Hide posted grades from parents and students until grade posting closes" was not enabled. The issue occurred when a value--such as 0--was entered in the related setting "Hide grades until X days after posting closes," which should only apply if the main hide setting is checked. With this fix, grades now display correctly based on the intended preference logic.

FOCUS-49621- Student Requests: Improved Credit Calculation Logic

This update enhances the credit evaluation displayed on individual student request lines. Previously, if credit values couldn't be determined from the Course Catalog or section data, the system defaulted to using the marking period ID. With this update, if both sources are unavailable, the system now additionally falls back to the course history term for a more accurate credit estimate.

FOCUS-49619- Loading Reports: Courses with Unfilled Requests no Longer Counts "Don't Schedule" Requests

This update resolves an issue in Scheduling Loading Reports where requests marked as "Don't Schedule" were incorrectly counted. Now, the Courses with Unfilled Requests report correctly excludes those flagged requests, ensuring it matches the actual count shown in the Requests by Course report.

FOCUS-49609- Communication Platform: Student Group Unable to Determine Members While Sending Scheduled Message

This update resolves an issue where scheduled messages sent to groups based on saved searches that included inactive students would fail to send. With the update, the messaging logic has been adjusted to handle inactive student records properly, allowing messages to send successfully to all valid recipients.

FOCUS-49604- Application Editor: Enhanced Support for Customized Last Page in Re-Enrollment Forms

This update enhances the Application Editor by ensuring the Customize Last Page setting now functions for both Online Applications and Re-Enrollment forms. FOCUS-49578- New Schedule: Schedule Holes Respect Rotation Bell Schedule

This update refines how schedule holes are determined in the New Schedule view by incorporating the default bell schedule for rotation days. Now, if no minutes are set for a period on a specific rotation day, that period will not display a schedule hole. This ensures that blank rows only appear when time is actually defined for that period and day combination, improving clarity for rotation-based schedules.

FOCUS-49577- Hide Future-Year Courses from Final Grades Summary

This update prevents future school year courses from displaying on the Final Grades Summary screen across the Student, Parent, and Admin portals. This update resolves an error caused by a misnamed variable in the assignments query used during Standard Grades Report Card generation. With this fix, the query correctly filters by selected students, and report cards generate as expected.

FOCUS-49565- Community Mobile App: Teacher Attendance Displaying Duplicate Students

This update resolves an issue where students would appear duplicated in the Community Mobile App after a teacher or co-teacher updated and re-saved attendance. Although the Attendance Chart remained accurate, the mobile interface showed duplicates. With this fix, resaving attendance no longer causes duplicate entries in the app, and the student list remains consistent.

FOCUS-49550- Student Groups: New Profile Permissions for Student Group Management

This enhancement introduces four new profile-based permissions within Student Groups to improve control over group visibility and access:

• Default Search
• Limit Assigned Users
• Requires Eligibility (permission added now; functionality pending future update)
• Publish to Portal (Student & Parent)

These permissions require "Assign Groups to Other Users" and are automatically enabled for any profile that already had access to Student Groups. This allows more granular control over who can configure group defaults, assign users, and publish visibility to the portal.

FOCUS-49505- Graduation Req. Report: Corrected Enrollment Status for Standalone Semester 2 Courses

This update ensures that standalone Semester 2 courses (without a corresponding Semester 1 course or grade) are no longer shown as "Currently Enrolled" once a final grade has been posted. Previously, these courses incorrectly remained in the currently enrolled section despite being completed.

FOCUS-49504- Resolve Unauthorized Access via Add a Student Match View

This update resolves an item where users with Add a Student access could view student records from schools they did not have permission to access by clicking "View" on a matched student. With this fix, users can no longer bypass school-based permissions through the match process in Add a Student.

FOCUS-49496- Communication: Ensure Consistent Formatting for Full Name Student Field

The 'Last, First M' insert field in the Communication module will now always render student names in the Last Name, First Name, Middle Initial format--regardless of the 'Student Name Format' system preference. FOCUS-49492- Advanced Reports: Signature Fields Now Print Correctly

This update resolves an issue where signature fields included in Advanced Reports would not display when printed.

FOCUS-49491- Post Final Grades: Support for Students with Future End Dates

This update ensures that students with a future enrollment end date are treated as active if today's date is before that end date. As a result, these students will now appear in Post Final Grades and be included in actions such as "Use Weighted Average of Quarter and Semester Exam Grades." This corrects a previous issue where valid students were being mistakenly excluded from final grade posting.

FOCUS-49488- Take Attendance: Display Attendance Code Totals in Column Headers

This enhancement updates the Take Attendance screen to show the total count of students assigned to each attendance code directly in the column headers. Once a teacher submits attendance, the totals for each code they have access to will appear, providing a clear summary of how many students received each attendance status.

FOCUS-49445- Scheduling: New 'Override co-enrollment restrictions' Option in Run Scheduler

This update adds flexibility to the scheduling process by allowing victim/aggressor restrictions to be treated as optional in the Run Scheduler. When the new "Override co-enrollment restrictions" option is enabled, the scheduler will attempt to avoid placing victims and aggressors in the same section, but if no other viable options exist, it will allow co-scheduling. This ensures students are not left unscheduled due to strict enforcement of conflict rules.

This update resolves an issue where only the first page records in the Late Check In / Early Release screen displayed Parent Contact information and used the updated file format for Excuse Notes. With this fix, all pages beyond the first now consistently display Parent Contact details and use the correct, updated Excuse Notes file structure.

FOCUS-49336- Hall Pass: Auto-End Note at Last Bell Schedule Period

This update improves the Hall Pass module by ensuring that any active passes still open at the end of the school day are automatically ended at the final bell time. When a pass is auto-ended by the system, a note is now added stating: "Hall Pass Auto Ended. End of School Day." This ensures accurate tracking and provides clear documentation for auto-ended passes.

FOCUS-49315- Communication Platform: Visibility Toggle for Announcement Comments

Note: This toggle applies only to top-level comments--replies will continue to inherit the visibility of their parent comment.

This update enhances the Graduation Requirements Report for Florida by expanding the logic used to determine eligibility for the Fine Arts Seal, specifically for courses not part of a student's assigned discipline track. In addition to the existing criteria for Fine Arts courses with an "A" grade, the report now includes AP, IB, DE, and Honors-designated Fine Arts courses where the student earned a "B" or higher and the course meets the credit threshold. This ensures that qualifying advanced-level Fine Arts courses are accurately reflected for Seal eligibility, even if they are outside the student's declared Fine Arts discipline.

FOCUS-49273- District Report Cards & Transcripts: Saving Issue with 'Transcripts' Type Resolved

This update fixes an issue where districts were unable to save rows when selecting 'Transcripts' as the Report Card Type in Grades > District Report Cards & Transcripts. Previously, entered data would clear unexpectedly, preventing successful saves. With this fix, entered information remains visible and is saved properly, even after refreshing.

FOCUS-49213- Address Catalog: Added Support for Address Number Suffixes

A new "Number Suffix" field has been added to the Address Catalog to support fractional (e.g., 456 1/2 Elm Street) and lettered (e.g., 123A Meadow Oaks Ct) address formats. This enhancement applies when using the singletons method in address validation. Address validation when adding or editing student records now correctly recognizes and matches suffixes. The new column is address_to_district.number_suffix (VARCHAR(20)).

This update adds the ability to include Conduct grades as criteria in Honor Roll Setup, allowing schools to define qualifications based on both academic and conduct performance. Additionally, the Grade Scale column has been updated to reflect the Minimum Number of X Grade required, replacing the previous "Maximum" logic. Districts using the former logic should review and update their Honor Roll configurations accordingly.

FOCUS-48430- Grade Change Request: Display "Current Gradebook Grade" Enhancement

This enhancement adds a "Current Gradebook Grade" column to both the Request Grade Changes (teacher portal) and Approve Grade Changes (admin portal) screens. For quarter-based terms, this column displays the student's current gradebook grade. If the selected term is an exam, semester, or full grade, the column will remain blank. Additionally, if the "New Grade" does not match the gradebook grade, it will be highlighted in red to help reviewers easily identify discrepancies.

This enhancement introduces a new scheduled job that automatically applies Gradebook Templates to teacher Gradebooks without requiring teachers to first open the Gradebook in each section. Designed for districts using template-based category or assignment creation and syncing via import or API, this job ensures categories and assignments are in place ahead of time. The job runs will be installed by default for customers leveraging Gradebook Templates to run nightly. Manual template sync by administrators is still required when editing templates through the interface.

FOCUS-47877- Course Length Standardized in Course Catalog & Master Schedule

This update standardizes the use of the course_length field in the Course Catalog for Florida customers. The system now consistently references master_courses.course_length instead of custom_field_11, ensuring Course Length values set at the Course Catalog level properly control Courses & Sections and Master Schedule Report, and catalog exports. A migration copies existing data from custom_field_11 into course_length, but the legacy field remains for reference. Customers with custom procedures should update them to use master_courses.course_length.

FOCUS-47038- Attendance: Kiosk & Late Check-In/Early Release Auto-Attendance Enhancement

This feature enhancement adds two new system preferences under Attendance to automate attendance updates during late check-ins and early releases:

• "Check-In Default Attendance Code for Prior Periods (automatically update)"
• "Check-Out Default Attendance Code for Following Periods (automatically update)"

When enabled, these preferences allow Focus to automatically update attendance for past or future periods based on a student's check-in or check-out time. For example, a student checking in during 3rd period will have periods 1 and 2 updated with the selected check-in attendance code. Similarly, a student checking out in 4th period will have all subsequent periods updated with the selected check-out code. Teacher-entered attendance will also be overwritten by this setting, ensuring consistent records.

This update ensures that the "Frequency of Session" field does not appear on the printout for Supplementary Aids and Services & Support Services for School Personnel when it is disabled in the Schedule of Services Setup screen. FOCUS-49474- SSS: Resolve PMP Data Collection Save Behavior

This update resolves an issue in the SSS module where changes made in the PMP Data Collection screen were not saving properly, and the Save button remained highlighted in red. With this fix, changes are now saved as expected, and the Save button turns grey to indicate a successful save.

FOCUS-49418- SSS: Print Academic/Behavior PMP Event Resolution

This update resolves an issue where the Graph and other steps were not appearing when printing the Academic/Behavior PMP event. With this fix, all expected steps, including the Graph step, are displayed properly and marked as completed when applicable.

FOCUS-49342- Form Builder: Improve Draft Behavior when Opened in Multiple Browser Tabs

This update improves how draft forms behave when opened in multiple browser tabs. Previously, if a user submitted a draft in one tab, then returned to another open tab and saved or submitted again, that second action could overwrite the submitted data. With this update, once a form is submitted, attempts to save or submit from another tab are blocked, preserving the original submission and preventing accidental overwrites.

FOCUS-49006- SSS: Schedule of Services Job Now Processes Multiple Services per Schedule

This update corrects an issue in the SSS module where the Schedule of Services scheduled job would only process one service per schedule, even if multiple services were defined. With this change, all services tied to a schedule are now properly processed, ensuring accurate service minute calculations.

FOCUS-48135- SSS: Improved Sync of Accommodations in IEP 2.0 Amendments

This update ensures that when the Schedule Type is changed in Schedule of Services, the associated schedule, duration, and location fields in IEP 2.0 Accommodations are correctly updated. These updates are also carried over when the IEP is amended, maintaining consistency across the amended form.

FOCUS-47952- SSS: Portal Alerts Now Sent to Correct Profile and School

This update corrects an issue where SSS portal alerts triggered via the 'Create Profile Portal Alert With Link' action were being sent to users who did not have the specified profile at the designated schools. With this resolution, alerts are only sent when the user holds the required profile at a matching school, based on their enrollment record.

FOCUS-46953- SSS: Missouri Placement & Decision Logging via Scheduled Job

A new scheduled job, "MO: Placement & Decision Update," has been added for Missouri customers. This job updates IEP Logging Field custom_300000117 after an IEP, Amended IEP, or Non-public ISP event is locked, pulling data from the MO Focus Placement Considerations and Decision supplement. Each saved form generates a new log entry, capturing relevant placement and date fields to support compliance and reporting.

FOCUS-41184- SSS: Improved Change Detection & Parent Editing for Components

This update enhances the SSS module by ensuring the Save & Validate button turns red when changes are made to any component within a step, providing a clearer visual cue for unsaved changes. It also fixes an issue where text area components were not triggering the unsaved changes warning when navigating away. Additionally, it corrects a permissions issue preventing parents from editing components, even when the "Enable for Parents" flag was set.

FOCUS-49603- Attendance Hours Display Correction for Postsecondary Schools

This update restores the ability to view Scheduled and Attended Hours as decimals in the Attendance Chart for Postsecondary organizations. When the "Display Scheduled and Attended Hours as Decimal" option is enabled, hour values now correctly convert to decimal format (e.g., 2:59 displays as 2.98).

FOCUS-49150- Application Editor: DOB Restriction for Application Courses (Postsecondary)

This enhancement adds a new system preference, "Define Date of Birth on Application Courses," for Postsecondary customers. When enabled, a new column appears on the Application Courses tab in Application Editor, allowing staff to set a date of birth cutoff per course. Students born after the defined date will not see that course as an available option on their application.
