FOCUS-44995- Workflow Triggers: Correct Interface "One Letter Per Period Timeframe" Display

This update corrects a display option in Workflow Triggers. Previously the checkbox for "One letter per period timeframe" was not displaying the current value in the database.

FOCUS-44944- Tardy Tracking: Resolve Error on Handhelds

This update resolves an issue with Tardy Tracking on handheld devices. Previously, users encountered a series of errors when using handheld devices for tardy tracking. With this branch, the errors have been corrected, and tardy tracking now functions as expected on handheld devices.

FOCUS-44939- Datatables: Improve Printing of Alert Icons Size

This update resolves an issue where Alert Icon images in datatables could be printed at a larger size than intended. With the branch, images in datatables will now print at their correct size, as they did previously. Images in polls and sign-ups will continue to print as they did before, with no change to their behavior.

FOCUS-44931- Discipline: New Minor Infraction View Option for Student Portals

This update introduces the second phase of the enhancement to display Minor Infractions on additional portals. A new profile permission has been added, allowing students to view Minor Infractions. When this permission is enabled, Minor Infractions will appear alongside referrals on the Student Portal, providing students with access to this information directly.

See Profiles > Permissions Explained and Referrals (parent/student) for more information.

FOCUS-44927- Students: Improve Results of Add/Drop Report

This branch corrects an issue in the Add/Drop Report, ensuring that all applicable students are displayed as expected.

FOCUS-44924- Communication Platform: Improve Scrolling in Table View of Templates/Announcements

This update resolves an issue with the table view in templates or announcements. Previously, if there were multiple items and the screen size allowed for scrolling, the view would switch from table view to list view when scrolling. With the branch, you can now scroll through the table without the view changing, ensuring a consistent display in table view regardless of scrolling.

FOCUS-44923- Communication Platform: Show Full Message Content When Exporting Individual Student or User Communication Report

This update corrects an issue within the Communication Platform. Moving forward, when exporting results on an individual student or user communication report, the entire message will be included in the message column. This ensures that all relevant information is captured during the export process.

FOCUS-44922- New Translations: Prevent Errors within API

This update corrects an issue within the New Translations and Communication Platform related to API translations. Specifically, it addresses an error that occurred with the Microsoft Translator API when an empty post was sent due to the text size exceeding 40,000 characters. This branch prevents such errors, ensuring smoother operation when translating large blocks of text.

FOCUS-44913- AzEds: Update StudentSchoolAssociation to change GraduationPlanReference

This update for Arizona Ed-Fi users adjusts the GraduationPlanReference on StudentSchoolAssociation. Previously, an empty array was used, but with this change, it will now be set to null when no graduation plan data is available. This update ensures accurate data representation in the AzEds Ed-Fi system.

FOCUS-44896- Discipline: Restrict Spending Positive Behavior Badges for Admins

This update enhances the Positive Behaviors feature in the Discipline module. Previously, administrators had access to the "Spend" column regardless of their profile settings. With this update, access to the "Spend" column is now restricted, ensuring only the profiles explicitly selected in the setup have access to it. This change ensures that permissions are correctly enforced according to the configuration settings.

FOCUS-44887- Form Builder: Improve Consistant Size of Dropdown Edit Button

This update corrects the display of the pencil icon in Form Builder when previewing a form with a dropdown field that allows editing of selection text. Previously, the pencil icon appeared larger in the preview than in the form creation screen. With this update, the pencil icon will now maintain a consistent size in both the preview and the editor, ensuring a uniform and professional appearance.

FOCUS-44884- Gradebook: Resolve Teachers Unable to Save Assignment Standards with Gradebook Templates

This update addresses an issue where teachers were unable to save standards to newly created assignments in the Gradebook, a problem introduced by a previous update that restricted editing assignment standards via Gradebook Templates. The intended behavior was for these restrictions to apply only to assignments created by templates, not to assignments manually created by teachers. With this fix, teachers can now save standards to their manually created assignments without issue, ensuring the correct functionality of the Gradebook.

FOCUS-44883- Advanced Report: Improve Saving Single Quote Inputs

This update corrects an issue in the Advanced Report where attempting to update a field with a value containing single quotes would result in the system replacing each single quote with two single quotes. With this update, values containing single quotes will now be preserved correctly without doubling the quotes, ensuring data integrity when making updates.

FOCUS-44882- API: New is_primary Flag in Focus Dialect school_enrollments Resource

This update adds a new "is_primary" flag to the school_enrollment resource within Third Party Systems, specifically in the Focus API Dialect. The flag identifies whether an enrollment record is the primary enrollment for a student, distinguishing it from any secondary enrollments. This enhancement is aimed at improving data accuracy and enabling more precise reporting and integration with third-party systems.

FOCUS-44875- Student Groups: Ensure Consistent Results for Custom Field Search Groups for Different Profiles

This update enhances the behavior of Student Groups to ensure accurate results for users without permissions to custom fields. Previously, if a student group was based on a saved search that included custom fields, and the group was made visible to another user without permission to view those fields, the user would not see accurate results. With this branch, the logic has been updated so that users without permissions can still view accurate results for student groups, both on the Student Groups page and in the Student Search.

FOCUS-44863- Attendance: Check WDIS Start Date in Teacher Completion Alerts

For postsecondary customers, this update improves the accuracy of Teacher Completion Alerts for Attendance by taking both the WDIS start date along with the student's scheduled start date into account.

FOCUS-44859- Mobile App: Add Side Scrolling for Viewing Messages in Communications

This update enhances message visibility within the Community Mobile App by allowing end-users to side-scroll when viewing messages. This ensures that the full content of each message is displayed, improving the overall user experience.

FOCUS-44841- Auto Cron Message: NewOption for Message Prior to Query

This update enhances the Auto Cron Messages feature by adding a new option called "Display prior to query." With this branch, users can choose to have the message appear above the query results if a query is used. Previously, any message sent along with a query would display below the query results. This improvement allows for more flexible message formatting in Auto Cron Messages, giving users control over where the message appears relative to the query results.

See Automated Cron Messages for more information.

FOCUS-44789- Communication Platform: New "Sending User's Name" Insert Field Variable

This update enhances the Communication Platform by introducing a new "Sending User's Name" insert field. This new field can be added to messages, allowing the sender's name to be automatically included in the message content. This feature improves personalization and clarity in communications sent through the platform.

FOCUS-44749- Attendance: Improved School Sorting and Hours Addition (Missouri)

This update enhances the Attendance Average Daily Attendance Report by introducing two key improvements. First, when selecting "All Schools" and "Breakdown by School," the report will now be sorted by school name, improving data organization and readability. Second, for Missouri customers, the report now includes the "Hours Present" and "Hours Absent" columns, providing additional valuable insights into student attendance. These enhancements make the report more comprehensive and user-friendly.

FOCUS-44748- Master Schedule Report: Only Accept Numeric Values for Class Minutes Weekly

This update modifies the Master Schedule Report to ensure that only numeric values can be entered when updating the "Class Minutes Weekly" field. This change aligns with the existing restrictions in the Scheduling Courses & Sections interface, where non-numeric entries are not permitted. The update helps maintain data consistency and accuracy across these related scheduling tools.

FOCUS-44744- Seating Chart: Disable Take Attendance if a Present Code is not Setup

This update addresses an issue where the Seating Chart fails to load if the available attendance codes for a section do not include a present or default code, and the user has permission to take attendance. With this branch, users will now see a message instructing them to contact their administrator to enable attendance-taking for that section until it is possible to do so. This enhancement ensures that users are informed of the necessary steps to resolve the issue, preventing confusion when the Seating Chart cannot be accessed.

FOCUS-44698- Addresses & Contacts: Resolve Message Individual Contact Link For Users Without Edit Linked Users Permission

This update resolves an issue within the Communication Platform where users with 'View Addresses & Contacts' permission, but without 'Edit Linked Users' permission, were being redirected to the inbox instead of the message composer when clicking the 'Message Contact' icon. Now, users without 'Edit Linked Users' permission will be correctly redirected to message an individual contact when the student has contacts but no linked users. This fix ensures proper functionality for users based on their permissions.

FOCUS-44647- Grades: Display Inactive Teachers on Grade Breakdown Report

This update ensures that teachers with an end date on their user enrollment are still properly included in the Grade Breakdown Report. Previously, such teachers might have been excluded due to the end date on their enrollment record, but this update corrects that issue, allowing for accurate reporting even if the teacher's enrollment has ended.

FOCUS-44548- Online Enrollments: Improve Display of Students in Unsubmitted

This update ensures that when a Re-Enrollment form is published to students of a specific profile, only those students with the designated profile will appear on the Online Enrollments report's Unsubmitted tab. Previously, students without the applicable profile would still be listed, but this issue has now been resolved.

FOCUS-44424- Attendance: Add Excuse Note Approval to Administration and Late Checkin/Early Release

This update enhances the functionality of Attendance Excuse Notes by expanding the ability to approve notes immediately upon upload. Previously, this feature was available only on the Attendance Absence Summary page. With this branch, the same capability is now available on the Late Check In / Early Release and Attendance Administration screens, streamlining the approval process for attendance-related notes across multiple areas of the system.

See Late Check In/Early Release, Administration, and Profiles > Attendance tab for more information.

FOCUS-44189- Core: Improve SSO Configuration Options

This update introduces several detailed enhancements to Single-Sign-On (SSO) configurations within Focus:

- Google Classroom Integration Fix: Resolves a previous issue where teachers encountered a 500 error when linking new classes to Google Classroom.

- QR Code on Kiosk: Adds a new option, particularly for Google SSO users, enabling mobile device logins via a QR code when using the Kiosk for tardy tracking.

- View Sessions Feature: Replaces the "Test Login" button, on all non-LDAP SSO types, with "View Sessions," showing up to 20 recent sessions and their details, allowing for easier troubleshooting and testing of SSO profiles.

These enhancements aim to provide more robust and user-friendly SSO options, improving the overall experience for administrators and end-users alike.

See Single Sign-On Configuration for more information.

FOCUS-43853- Mass Add Log Records: Display Expand Data View & Alert Icons

This enhancement adds an "Expand Data View" option and Alert Icons to the Mass Add Log Records feature. The Expand Data View option allows users to enlarge the view of log data, making it easier to review and manage large datasets. The Alert Icons provide visual indicators. This update improves the overall usability and efficiency of the Mass Add Log Records process.

See Mass Add Log Records for more details.

FOCUS-43485- Student Groups: Resolve Error Editing Another Users Group

This update corrects an issue with Dynamic Student Groups. Previously, if a user created a group with an Assigned Saved Search and another user edited the group (e.g., adding another profile), the original user would see the Assigned Saved Search as blank the next time they accessed the group. This update ensures that the Assigned Saved Search remains intact and visible to the original creator after such edits are made by other users.

FOCUS-43345- Gradebook: Resolve Letter Grades Only Category Grades

Previously, grade calculations for categories did not consider the weight based on points. With this update, the point value of the assignment is now taken into consideration. Note that if you enter grades by points, the GPA is still used for calculations unless you select to use points in the gradebook settings. For example, on a 100-point assignment, entering 89 or 80 points would not affect the grade as both are converted to a 'B', which is then used in the calculation. Additionally, this update changes the configuration option for displaying the class average. The option "Display Assignment Class Average on Grades (Assignment) Screen to Parents/Students" is now renamed to "Display Assignment Class Average to Parents/Students."

FOCUS-43320- Gradebook: Fix Weighted Letter Grades Only Gradebook Grade

When a gradebook displays letter grades only, overall and category grades are calculated based on the GPA value of assignments rather than the percent score. If the gradebook uses weighted categories, an assignment should impact the overall grade percentage specified for that category. This update fixes an issue where category weights only worked correctly if all assignments had the same possible points. Previously, assignments with varying points could disproportionately affect the grade for other categories, depending on the assignment's point value and the grade received. Now, assignments with different point values will correctly reflect their intended weight in the overall grade calculation.

FOCUS-43085- Address & Contacts: Update "Mailing Address" label to "Use Separate Mailing Address"

This update changes the wording on the Student's Address card from "Mailing Address" to "Use Separate Mailing Address" for improved clarity. Additionally, when toggling the setting on and off before saving, the data will now be preserved. No other changes to the functionality of the Mailing Address feature are included.

See Student Info > Adding an Address for more information.

SSS

FOCUS-45032- SSS: Resolve Saving Signatures on Draft Events

This update corrects an issue within the SSS module where multiple signature fields on a form in an event would not retain previous signatures if the form was saved as a draft. Previously, if a signature was made and the form was saved, adding a second signature would remove the first one upon saving again. With this branch, all signatures remain intact, ensuring that no signatures are lost during the drafting process.

FOCUS-44984- SSS: Resolve Custom Steps Results in Event Reporting

This update improves the SSS module by addressing an issue where custom events would not generate results in the Forms & Steps report on the event reporting screen. With this branch, the report will now generate correctly, ensuring that users can view and analyze data from custom events as expected.

FOCUS-44935- SSS: Resolve Incorrect School on IEP Student Header

This update corrects an issue in the SSS module related to displaying the correct school in the form header. Previously, if a student had a future enrollment for the current year and an enrollment from the previous year without an end date, the previous year's school would appear in the form header. With the branch, future enrollment records for the current year will be correctly displayed in the header, ensuring the appropriate school is shown.

FOCUS-44832- SSS: Image Events Only when Manually Selecting Image Button

This update enhances the SSS module by changing how events marked for auto-imaging are handled. Previously, such events would be automatically imaged as soon as they were locked. With this branch, events will only be imaged when the user manually clicks the image button, providing greater control over when events are captured.

FOCUS-44628- SSS: Set Inactive Button Properties Enhancement

This update enhances the SSS module by adding two new columns to the "Inactive Events" tab in the Manage Student screen. The first column, "Set Inactive By," displays the user who deactivated the event, with a link to email them if available. The link will use the user's email or, if unavailable, their username (if it's an email address). If neither option works, the name won't be linked. The second column, "Date Set Inactive," shows the date when the event was marked inactive.

See Manage Student > Setting an Event as Inactive for more information.

FOCUS-44524- SSS: PMP Data Collection Enhancement

This update improves the usability of the SSS module by making the interface more responsive when dealing with longer strategies in PMPs. Previously, if a strategy's title was too long and the user's screen wasn't large enough, the columns on the right and the save button would be out of view. With this branch, long strategy titles are truncated, a scroll bar is added to navigate to hidden columns, and the save button remains visible, improving overall accessibility and functionality.

FOCUS-44498- SSS: Improve Form Validation Messaging

This update resolves an issue in the SSS module related to form validation messages. Previously, if a form was saved as a draft without all required information, a validation warning would appear and persist even after the form was completed and successfully saved. With this update, the validation message will be removed once all required information is filled in and the form is saved successfully, ensuring a smoother user experience.

FOCUS-44495- SSS: Enhancements to General Settings & Schedule of Service Setup

Improvements to SSS General Settings:

-A new tab has been created in SSS > General, where all existing Schedule of Services settings have been moved. This includes various settings like “Schedule of Services Transportation Codes Source,” “Custom Total School Minutes Field,” and more.

- Updates have been made to the “Schedule of Services Frequency of Minutes” and “Schedule of Services Location Type” settings. The “Enabled” option is now titled “Instructional & Related Services,” and a new checkbox for “Supplementary Aids & Services” has been added. When enabled, Location Type and Minutes fields will appear in the Supplementary Aids & Services block, mirroring their appearance in Instructional & Related Services.

Improvements to Schedule of Service Setup Screen:

-Supplementary Aids and Services Tab: When the above options for Supplementary Aids and Services are enabled the configuration for Location Type, Location, Minutes, Frequency & Frequency of Minutes becomes available. This will allow for all the same calculation functionalities described above in the Instructional & Related Services area.

- Enabled Column in Setup Screen: An Enabled column has been added to each tab in the setup screen, with checkboxes defaulting to enabled. This setting controls whether fields show in the custom screen pop-up and their appearance in print media when disabled.

Improvements to calculations of minutes when Frequency of Minutes is Enabled:

1. Service Frequency of Minutes Setting: The “Frequency of Minutes” option and Frequency of Sessions dropdown (1-5) have been added for Instructional and Related Services. These settings can now be configured on the Schedule of Service Setup screen. The “Minutes per week” heading is updated to “Minutes per session.” The previous warning message has been removed, as calculations now function correctly with the option enabled.

2. Schedule of Service Setup Screen: A new “Number of Weeks” column has been added to the Frequency of Minutes pop-up. The default values are set based on the service type (e.g., Weekly - 1 week, Monthly - 4 weeks). Districts can configure these options as needed.

3. Schedule of Service Custom Screen: For Instructional and Related Services, the terminology has been updated from “minutes” to “Minutes per Session.” New fields for “Frequency of Session” and “Frequency Type” have been added. The system now calculates Total Weekly Minutes per service, which will be used in determining the total ESE minutes per week and calculating the Percent GE.

4. Functionality of Calculations: The system will calculate Total Weekly Minutes using the formula: Minutes per Session * Frequency of Session / Frequency Type, where Frequency Type is translated to weeks (e.g., Weekly = 1, Monthly = 4). The resulting total minutes per week will be used in existing calculations for ESE services.

5. Synchronized Schedule of Service Scheduled Job: The functionality remains using new calculations

See General and Schedule of Services Setup for more information.

FOCUS-44371- Schedule: Respect Schedule End Date in Attended Hours Calculation for Postsecondary

This update improves the accuracy of the Attended Hours calculation for Postsecondary customers. Previously, hours recorded after a student's schedule drop date were incorrectly included in the attended hours calculation. With this update, the calculation logic now correctly considers the scheduled drop date, ensuring that only the hours before the drop date are counted. This enhancement provides a more accurate reflection of the student's actual attended hours.
