The Hall Passes screen allows students and parents to view past, current, and future hall passes for the student. If your school allows students to request hall passes, students may also create hall passes from this screen. Hall passes for certain locations may require approval by a teacher or administrator, while other locations may be automatically approved.

If your school allows students to request hall passes, students may create a hall pass. Hall passes for certain locations may require approval by a teacher or administrator, while other locations may be automatically approved.
1. In the menu, click Hall Passes.
2. Click Create.
3. The Departing From pull-down populates with the room for the period when your pass will be active based on your schedule. Select a different room if needed.
4. Click the Destination.
5. If more than one location exists for a destination, click the specific location.
6. Now is selected by default, which will create a hall pass for the current date and time. To create a hall pass for a future date and time, click Scheduled.
7. Enter the Date and Time for the scheduled hall pass.
The Total Time for the pass and the Travel Time (time it takes to get to and from your destination) may populate if set up by your school.
8. Click Create Hall Pass.
There may be restrictions in place that prevent you from creating a hall pass. A message will display after clicking "Create Hall Pass."
Passes Created for Now
For passes where checking in and checking out of the location is required, see Checking In and Out (for Students).
If your hall pass is scheduled for Now, but needs teacher or administrator approval, the pass will display in the table with a Status of "Requested."
When the pass is approved, the Status will update to "Active."
To view the hall pass, click the (X) Passes link. The number in the link indicates the number of passes you have had for the current date.
The hall pass is displayed in a pop-up window. The pass status and time remaining for the pass are indicated. The green background indicates you are still within the time limit of your pass.
If you have had any prior passes for that day, the date, time, length of pass, and location is listed at the bottom of the window.
Click End to end the hall pass when returning to class.
The End button will only display if your school allows students to end hall passes.
After ending the pass, the pass Status updates to Ended.
If you navigate to the Hall Passes screen after your pass has been approved (if approval is required), or if the pass is auto-approved, the active hall pass will display on the screen. The pass status and time remaining for the pass are indicated. The green background indicates you are still within the time limit of your pass.
Click End to end the hall pass when returning to class.
The End button will only display if your school allows students to end hall passes.
When you end your pass, it is added to the table on the Hall Passes screen with a status of Ended.
Passes Created for a Scheduled Date and Time
For passes where checking in and checking out of the location is required, see Checking In and Out (for Students).
If your pass is scheduled for a future date and time, the pass is added to the table after it has been created. If the pass requires approval from a teacher or administrator, the Status will display as "Requested."
Once the pass has been approved, or the pass does not require approval, the Status will display as "Upcoming."
To cancel the pass, click Cancel. The pass status will update to "Request Canceled."
The pass will activate at the scheduled date and time. If you are already on the Hall Passes screen when your pass activates, the Status will update to display "Active" in the table.

Your school may require students to check in and out of certain locations when using hall passes.
If your school does not allow students to check in or out from the Student Portal, the Check In and Check Out buttons will not be available.
The active hall pass will display on the screen once your pass is approved by a teacher or administrator (if approval is required).
1. Click Check In once you arrive to your destination.
2. Click Check Out when leaving the location.
3. Once you've returned to class, click End.
The End button will only display if your school allows students to end hall passes.
The pass information is added to the table on the Hall Passes screen. The pass has a Status of "Ended." The Check-In, Check-Out, and End columns will display the time that action took place.
1. You may also check in and out from the table on the Hall Passes screen. Once the pass becomes active, click the In button for the pass.
Alternatively, click the X Passes link to view the pass.
In the pop-up window, click Check In.
The Check-In column is updated with the check-in time.
As time progresses, the Minutes Elapsed will update, along with a progress bar indicating the amount of time that has passed.
2. When leaving the location, click the Out button.

In the pop-up window, click Check Out.
The Check-Out column is updated with the check-out time.
3. To end the hall pass once you return to class, click the (X) Passes link to view the pass.
4. Click End.
The End button will only display if your school allows students to end hall passes.
The Status of the hall pass updates to display as "Ended." The End column displays the time the pass was ended.
The table on the Hall Passes screen displays the student's current, past, and future hall passes.
1. For students, click Hall Passes in the menu.
For parents, click the student in the menu. Then, click Hall Passes.
The Hall Passes screen is displayed, including any hall passes from the first day of school until today.
2. To view hall passes within a specified date range, select a Start Date and End Date and click Search.
At the top-right corner of the screen, the number of passes that went over the time limit, the number of passes created, and the total time spent out of class are displayed for the selected date range.
The columns on the Hall Passes screen provide information about each hall pass.
Column | Description |

Student | Displays the student’s name, student ID, and the number of passes issued for that day. Click the “(X) Passes” link to view the pass details. |
Status | Displays the status of the pass:

Destination | Displays the location category, category title, and specific location the pass was issued for. |
From | Displays the room number the student departed from at the time the pass became active. |
Minutes Elapsed | Displays the number of minutes that the pass was active (numerator), over the total number of minutes issued for the pass (denominator). If the student exceeds the minutes set on the pass length, the Minutes Elapsed column will be highlighted in red. The number of minutes beyond the pass length will display as a negative number in the numerator, over the total number of minutes for the issued pass. |
Start | Displays the date and time the pass became active. |
Cancel | Displays the Cancel button for the student to cancel the pass. |
Check-In | Displays the In button for students to check in to a location where checking in is required. After checking in, the column displays the time the student checked in to the location. If the Check-In column displays in red, this indicates the check in time exceeded the travel time set on the pass or the check-in time was never recorded. This column will be blank for passes where check-in is not required. Note: If your school does not allow students to check in or out from the Student Portal, the In button will not display for checking in. |
Check-Out | Displays the Out button for students to check out of a location where checking out is required. After checking out, the column displays the time the student checked out of the location. If the Check-Out column displays in red, this indicates the check out time was never recorded, or the check out time exceeded the length set on the pass. This column will be blank for passes where check-out is not required. Note: If your school does not allow students to check in or out from the Student Portal, the Out button will not display for checking out. |
End | Aftering ending the hall pass, the column displays the time the student, teacher, or administrator ended the pass. |
Initiator | Displays the name of the student, teacher, or administrator who created the pass. |
