Florida Codes

The Florida Codes screen allows users to review and set up Florida State Reporting Codes that are used throughout Focus for Additional Compensation, Salary Scheduling, Funding, Salary Adjustments, and Benefits. The codes displayed on this screen are normally imported into the system; however, codes can be reviewed, edited, or manually added, as needed.

Additional Compensation Codes

The Additional Comp tab allows users to review, edit, and add the additional compensation codes to identify up to eleven types of annual compensation and their corresponding monetary values paid to an employee during the fiscal year being reported.

1. From the Setup menu, click Florida Codes.

2. The Florida Codes screen defaults to the Additional Comp tab.

3. To add a new code, enter the Code and Title in the provided text boxes in the last row.

4. Press the Enter key to save the entry.

5. Click the Code or Title field to edit existing text. Changes save automatically.

6. Click the delete button (red minus sign) to delete a code.

Salary Schedule Codes

The Salary Schedule tab allow users to review, edit, and add salary schedule pay types which is the district salary schedule from which the instructional staff member or school administrator is paid.

1. From the Setup menu, click Florida Codes.

2. Click the Salary Schedule tab.

3. To add a new salary schedule, enter the Code and Title in the provided text boxes in the last row.

4. If the salary schedule can be utilized during a set timeframe, enter the Starting and Ending dates in the provided text boxes.

5. Press the Enter key to save the entry.

6. Click the Code, Title, Starting, or Ending field to edit existing text. Changes save automatically.

Funding Codes

The Funding tab allow users to review, edit, and add job code fun sources, which are codes  to identify up to three fund sources (and corresponding percentages) from which the employees salary is paid.

1. From the Setup menu, click Florida Codes.

2. Click the Funding tab.

3. To add a new funding code, enter the Code and Title in the provided text boxes in the last row.

4. If the funding code can be utilized during a set timeframe, enter the Starting and Ending dates in the provided text boxes.

5. Press the Enter key to save the entry.

6. Click the Code, Title, Starting, or Ending field to edit existing text. Changes save automatically.

Salary Adjustment Codes

The Salary Adjustment Codes tab allow users to review, edit, or add salary adjustment codes, which is an addition to the base salary schedule that is not a bonus and becomes part of the employees permanent base salary and is considered compensation under s. 121.021(22), F.S. [Section 1012.22(c)1a, F.S.]

1. From the Setup menu, click Florida Codes.

3. To add a new salary adjustment code, enter the Code and Title in the provided text boxes in the last row.

4. If the salary adjustment code can be utilized during a set timeframe, enter the Starting and Ending dates in the provided text boxes.

5. Press the Enter key to save the entry.

6. Click the Code, Title, Starting, or Ending field to edit existing text. Changes save automatically.

Benefit Codes

The Benefit Codes tab allow users to review, edit, and add selected benefits, which are codes to identify up to eleven types of benefits and their corresponding monetary values to which the school district contributed for the employee during the fiscal year being reported.

1. From the Setup menu, click Florida Codes.

3. To add a new benefit code, enter the Code and Title in the provided text boxes in the last row.

4. Press the Enter key to save the entry.

5. Click the Code or Title field to edit existing text. Changes save automatically.
