DOE Crosswalk

The DOE Crosswalk screen allows users to define how fields used throughout Focus should be submitted to the Department of Education (DOE).

Element Crosswalks

The Element Crosswalks tab allows users to set up specific ranges of elements that crosswalk or are submitted as one assigned element code. For example, the Fund number range 103-198 is submitted as 199 to the department of education.

1. From the Setup menu, click DOE Crosswalk.

2. The DOE Crosswalk screen defaults to the Element Crosswalks tab.

3. To create a new crosswalk, enter information in the top row.

4. Select the applicable Element Category, such as Fund, Project, Facility, etc. from the pull-down.

5. Enter the range of elements in the Low and High text boxes starting with the lowest element number and ending with the highest element number. Note: If you only need to identify one element, enter the same element number in both the Low and High text boxes.

6. Enter the element number that severs as the department of education equivalent in the Crosswalk To text box.

7. Select the Submission window from the pull-down.

8. Press the Enter key to save the line of data.

9. To edit existing element crosswalks, click the applicable field and change the selection or edit the text, as needed. Changes save automatically.

10. Click Mass Update to update an entire column for all entries.

a. Select the applicable Column, such as Submission, and select or enter the Value.

b. Click Update.

c. All updated fields display in yellow. Click Save to apply changes.

11. Click the delete button (red minus sign) to delete an element crosswalk.

Strip Crosswalks

The Strip Crosswalks tab allows users to set up specific accounting strips that crosswalk or are submitted as one assigned element code. Note: This tab can also be used to create a crosswalk for one or multiple elements of an accounting strip.

1. From the Setup menu, click DOE Crosswalk.

2. Click the Strip Crosswalks tab.

3. To create a new crosswalk, enter information in the top row.

4. Enter the applicable accounting strip elements starting with the Type, Fund, etc.

5. Select the applicable Element Category from the pull-down to identify the type of element the accounting strip is being linked.

6. Enter the element number that severs as the department of education equivalent in the Crosswalk To text box.

7. Select the Submission window from the pull-down.

8. Press the Enter key to save the line of data.
