Leading Indicator Report

The Leading Indicator Report is used to compare test data typically from a local assessment to a historic state assessment. The report can be used to make school-wide decisions regarding preparation for state assessments.

Generating the Leading Indicator Report

1. In the Assessment menu, click Leading Indicator Report.

2. To limit the report to a specific group of students, enter the search criteria on the left side of the screen.

For example, if you have a spreadsheet containing student IDs of particular students, you can copy the column or row of student IDs and paste them into the Student search box. You can also use More Search Options to search for a group of students based upon student fields. There are additional search fields at the bottom of the screen. If you leave all the search options blank, the report will return with all students at the school with scores for the selected test, subject, and part.

3. Select the Test, Subject, and Part for the Leading Indicator.

The leading indicator is usually a local assessment.

4. Select the applicable Score and Growth check boxes for the Score Types to view on the report.

5. Select the Test, Subject, and Part for the Historic Assessment.

The historic assessment is a past assessment that is used to compare data.

6. Select the Score check box for each Score Type to include on the report.

7. Select Gradelevel to include student grade levels on the report.

8. Click Search.

The report is displayed, including the selected score information for the leading indicator and historic assessment.

9. Click Show Options... to view the report options.

The report options and a legend for the achievement levels are displayed at the top of the screen.

10. To modify the report, change the report options at the top of the screen and click Go.

11. To export the report to Excel, click the Export icon, and follow your computer's prompts to open or save the file.

12. To generate a PDF of the report for printing, click Print at the bottom of the screen.

Click the down arrow to access the Print options, where you can select a template or select to print in small font.
